About the Artform

Pattachitra is one of the oldest art forms of Odisha. Known for its beautiful motifs, colorful designs, and intricate detailing, this folk art mainly depicts stories from Indian mythology, nature, and animals.Pattachitra is a heritage art of Odisha, and it is valued for its style of painting throughout the World.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about the art form starting with an introduction to the brief origin of this art form and learn how to draw basic human figures in pattachitra style in an easy way, You will learn about the brushes used, colors & learn few easy motifs of this art form, along with that human faces, expressions & colors detailing.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 15+).

Materials Required

  • A4 size paper/ canvas/ MDF base
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Brushes - long hair 000, 00, round 0, 1
  • Primary Colours which will include black, red, yellow, blue, green, white

Lipsha did her post graduation from St. Xavier's College in Kolkata in finance. In 2017, she shifted to art and started an art studio called DPR Artlife. Through her studio, she has been working towards taking Odisha's ancient artform, Pattachitra, to all the corners of the world.
