About the Artform

Knife painting is a technique where different shapes of knives are used to apply color on paper/ canvas. This is also known as Impasto, because of its thick consistency/ nature of application in making Abstracts, landscapes, florals, and many more.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about the basics of acrylics, shading & mixing colors, techniques of knife painting like positioning & angle of the knife while painting, application, color blocking & shading with the knife, how to create emboss effect with knife or impasto acrylics, and texture creation.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 13+).

Materials Required

  • Painting Knife if available, otherwise butter knife from home kitchen or small spoon.
  • Flat brush (4/6/8)
  • Round brush (2/4/6)
  • Acrylic colors
  • Canvas/ paper above 240 gsm (A4 or any sketchbook)
  • Pencil, eraser
  • Color palette or any dish
  • Napkin, water glass

However, her love and passion for painting inspired her to pursue art and exhibit her work at renowned art galleries.
