About the Artform

Watercolor silhouette paintings are characterised with brilliant colorful backgrounds along with dark/black structures (human/object/scenery) to create interesting scenarios. Being one of the most popular types of watercolor paintings, silhouette paintings can have numerous effects with just a few variations in technique.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about making different backgrounds, how to make different silhouette shapes;Making a painting and basic techniques and methods of Color Mixing. 

This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 13+).

Materials Required

  • Watercolors
  • 2 x round/flat brushes (No. 2 & No. 6/7)
  • Thick paper (200 GSM or above)
  • Black marker/sketch pen
  • Water
  • Masking tape
  • Pencil
  • Rough cloth

About the Artist

Sonam Mishra

She is an artist by passion & by profession, an Assistant Professor in engineering colleges. She has taught more than 1000 students (in-person & online) over the years. She has always believed that every soul on earth is artistic; only their art form is different. She loves exploring different dimensions of art and improving her skills.
