About the Artform
Colouring is one of the most fun and best jobs in the world because of its heavy dependence on the fun part of the art: the storytelling. Adding colours to the black and white drawings bring the characters and scenery designs come to life. Colours can help expand the scope of any artwork, turning each panel from a two-dimensional drawing into a window to a rich, nuanced world. The colours in those panels can flow together to set the pace, like a song. Colours can convey things like mood, time of day, change of scene, image planes and depth of field.
About the Session
In this session, you will learn about a brief introduction on comic books, a basic outline of colour theory, how to match them and choose them. It will include step by step detailed explanation of how to colour a complete comic character from scratch. It will also include a description of various brushes and techniques/styles used across the comic industry to colour popular characters.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 18+).
About the Artist
Hi I'm Aastha, an engineer by profession but artist by nature and passion. I could draw even before I could speak or write and hence I decided to never let go of this artistic itch. My drawings incorporate comics and humans created in both mixed media and digital, my favourite being ink! Not to forget, I'm a huge art supply junkie and hence you can hit me up any time to talk about them for hours!
