About the Workshop
Get an overview of Gond art and its origin, compose a traditional Gond drawing complete with trees, deer and turtles, detail your drawing with patterns such as dots, fine lines and dashes, and paint your composition with authentic colors of the Gond palette.
Dating back to around 1400 years, Gond art is practiced by the largest Adivasi community in India - the Gond tribe. Each Gond painting tells a story and is deeply rooted in the folktales and culture of the tribe. The art takes inspiration from nature and is made using fine lines and vivid colors.
