About the Artform

Meenakari originated in 16th century when Raja Man Singh of Amber brought Persian craftsman from Lahore to Rajasthan and drenched the art in an Indian Flavor. As the time passed by Jaipur became the hub for Meenakari.
Meenakari involves the art of coloring and ornamenting the metal surfaces through enameling. It is a beautiful traditional artform that involves the use of bright colors and bold designs!

In this workshop, you will be using glass colors and other materials to convert a simple steel thali into a beautiful piece of art. You will be taught the technique of bringing out meenakari designs on a metal surface from scratch.
You will learn to convert a simple steel thali into a beautiful meenakari masterpiece.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' workshop!(Age: 15+)

Vijaya Jaju

She is a homemaker and a hobby artist. Her artistic passion has been with her since her childhood. Trying different artforms and making home decor items makes her happy. Her experience in conducting workshops makes for an enriching session with her!
