About the Artform
The word Mandala is a Sanskrit word, which means a discoid or a round object. This beautiful artform came into existence roughly around the 4th century BC. It was mainly created to teach young monks, concentration & patience. Some believe that mandalas represent the universe and us in their structure. Today, the art has evolved into various different forms.
