About the Workshop
Known to date back to around the 17th century, the artform of Kalamkari is practiced in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is a style of intricate hand-painting on fabric using natural dyes in earthy tones and involves upto 23 meticulous steps. The name is derived from the word 'kalam', which means pen.
In this workshop you will, learn about Kalamkari artform, get introduced to the popular motifs, draw the face of a Goddess in Kalamkari style, learn to do detailing and add color to your composition, at the end of the workshop, you will have made a stunning drawing of a Goddess in Kalamkari style.
