About the Artform
Known to date back to around the 17th century, the artform of Kalamkari is practised in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is a style of intricate hand-painting on fabric using natural dyes in earthy tones and involves upto 23 meticulous steps. The name is derived from the word 'kalam', which means pen.

She is a trained graphic designer with immense experience in the field of advertising and is now into traditional artforms. She creates beautiful Kalamkari motifs and gives her own improvisation & creativity, and makes stunning handcrafted decor items.
