About the Artform
Watercolor art dates from Stone Age cave painting when early Paleolithic man first painted pictures of animals and humans on their caves using charcoal, ochre, and other natural pigments. It was later popularized in Egyptian art after the discovery of papyrus (paper).
About the Session
In this session, you will learn about creating a bookmark of an eclipsed watercolour sun on a black gouache background. It’ll be a cross over of watercolours and gouache. Watercolours being the dominant art form, we will learn the wet on wet technique of painting a smooth unconventional ombré.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 10+).
About the Artist
Divdrisht Kaur Suri
@mandalas_by_divdrisht_
Being a finance graduate from J.D. Birla Institute, Department of Management, she was set to pursue a master’s degree in finance from HEC, Paris, until the time she stumbled upon this beautiful artform called mandalas and zentangles. Since then, for her, there’s been no looking back and she has gotten herself completely submerged in it. All her work is delineated using pen, ink, and paper. They’re all hand-curated designs, in black and white, trying to capture the essence of in-line symmetry and asymmetric art-forms using extreme intricacy. She has conducted over 800 mandala workshops, nationally and globally, in 13 countries, over the past 5 years.
