About the Artform

Brush lettering is a style of writing similar to calligraphy. With each letter, heavy pressure is applied on the downward stroke and light pressure is applied with every upward stroke. Because of the use of pressure and the appearance of the letters, brush lettering is commonly known as modern calligraphy.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about the modern artform in a much more familiar way, starting with understanding the fundamentals of calligraphy with basic strokes, a little introduction to the materials used, learning about the brush pen, right from the perfect way of holding brush pen, to differences in strokes with soft tip and hard tip brush pens, writing lower case alphabets with a tip to tip and surface blending with brush pens. All of the mentioned will be taught in a way to provide you with a complete hands-on experience of the art form by the end of the workshop.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 8+).
