About the Artform

Watercolor illustration, also aquarelle is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-based solution. Watercolor refers to both the medium and the resulting artwork. Aquarelles painted with water-soluble colored ink instead of modern watercolors are called aquarelle atramento. Watercolor paint is an ancient form of painting. In East Asia, watercolor painting with inks is referred to as brush painting or scroll painting. In Chinese, Korean and Japanese painting it has been the dominant medium, often in monochrome black or browns, often using inkstick or other pigments. India, Ethiopia, and other countries have long watercolor painting traditions as well.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about the age-old art form in a much more familiar way, starting with an introduction to painting loose-styled bougainvilleas using multiple techniques - wet on wet, and dry on wet, to come up with a gorgeous painting. All of the mentioned will be taught in a way to provide you with a complete hands-on experience of the art form by the end of the workshop.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 7+).
