About the Artform

Facial expressions are one of the most powerful ways we humans have for communicating with one another. From a very early age, we can distinguish a happy expression from an angry face. As we grow older, this ability turns into a way of expressing our feelings and reading other people’s thoughts and emotions without words.

About the Session

In this session, you will learn about the modern art form in a much more familiar way, starting with an introduction to draw facial expressions by exploring how each of the main human emotions happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, and base emotions can be distilled into a few basic gestures and adjusted to achieve an even broader emotional range. All of the mentioned will be taught in a way to provide you with a complete hands-on experience of the art form by the end of the workshop.
This is a 'beginner-friendly' session. (Age: 12+).

Hi I'm Aastha, an engineer by profession but artist by nature and passion. I could draw even before I could speak or write and hence I decided to never let go of this artistic itch. My drawings incorporate comics and humans created in both mixed media and digital, my favourite being ink!
